AUDART, The Anti-Gallery

60 Broad St., New York NY

Jon Singer

It is as if I have reconnected with 30,000 years of art/artifact making; from the neolithic batons found in the glorious caves of Europe, to the ubiquitous paint roller brushes found in Janovic Plaza.

"Transformed" 10" X 26"

I take, from the daily newspapers, images of people that I find intereting; then proportionalize to the one revolution of the common roller size. I then carve into the roller itself, freeing the imge from the blank cylindrical surface.

"The Drama Before Language Intervenes"

Each carved roller image imparts it's own fractal signature when drawn accross the surface, providing infinite visual variation, and, I hope, enjoyment to the viewer.

"Olympia" 57" X 76"
